Imagine Best Friends Card

Hi friends! I bet you all thought I forgot about you! I promise I did not, I have just had "one of those weeks"...lol. I did manage to get A LOT of playing in with my new Cricut Imagine!! I absolutely LOVE this new machine! I was NOT going to buy it during the launch, but I am so glad now that I caved when I did. I do have to say that I will be a VERY HAPPY girl when I can use my beloved Gypsy with it. When that happens, no one will be able to stop me...hehe!!!!

So...here is a simple little card I made using the Best Friends Imagine cartridge. I didn't do any color changes. I just printed and cut it as it is, popped up the images with some pop dots and added them onto some embossed Kraft cardstock. I added some faux stitching and ribbon because I was feeling a little guilty because it almost felt too easy! The sentiment comes from My Pink Stamper and the little piece of patterned paper the sentiment is on was printed on my Imagine. I LOVE all the patterned paper and it prints out so beautifully.

Don't worry, I will never abandon my Expression or my regular card-making style! My ONLY problem thus far with the Imagine is that I cannot use my Gypsy with it. I usually live with my Gypsy in my hands, so it has been a little difficult getting used to something different.  I think I had forgotten how to use a cartridge, but after playing around with the new machine for a bit, it is really easy! I have to admit, though, that I have printed on my mat a couple of times. I don't recommend watching TV while learning how to use the Imagine...LOL.  Also, here's a little paper tip that I learned the hard way. DO NOT use that glossy brochure paper in your Imagine! I was playing around with some different types of paper and thought "Oh, I'll bet this brochure paper will print on perfect "...NOT! It was a huge mess and I could barely get the paper off of the mat. It stuck REALLY BAD! Don't try this at home folks! Take it from me!

Hope you all are having a FABULOUS week!!!

Scrappy Hugs,
Kimmy :)

Paper Diva :)

Happy almost weekend everybody!! Here is a card I recently sent to my "Scrappy Idol", Scrappin Navy Wife .  I didn't want to post it until I was sure she had gotten it, but much to my surprise she so sweetly posted it on her blog today! I was really happy how it turned out and thought it was just PERFECT for this "Paper Diva"!

I used the "Lovely Floral" cartridge for the words and "Gypsy Wanderings" for the shapes. The patterned paper is from DCWV "Black Currant" stack (which I am in love with).

On a sidenote, I checked the status of my Imagine order today and it says it has shipped...WOOT WOOT!!! So a UPS man somewhere is carrying around my machine and I want it NOW...lol. It says the estimated delivery date is September 24th...boo! I am hoping they are lying...hehe.

I Did It!!

I caved! I ordered the new Cricut Imagine no more than 10 minutes into the world launch. I said I was going to wait and I don't know how it happened...lol. I wasn't even going to watch the broadcast so I wouldn't be tempted. Well, I just couldn't help myself! Now...the wait.

Happy Cricut Imagine Launch Day!!

Kimmy

Winter Frolic Snowman Card

I absolutely LOVE this cartridge! I have had it for a few weeks now and have been dying to get to one of the adorable snowmen on it.  All cardstock, patterned paper, and ribbon used is from Papertrey Ink. I, of course, HAD to use a Peachy Keen face. This face came from PK-493 Everyday Character Face Parts and More. I have been getting a TON of use out of this little set lately!  If you don't already have this set, it is a good one to own (very cheap, too!).  The patterned paper has some distressing in it, so I brought out a little bit more of that distressing with my Ranger Antique Linen distress pad. Apparently, I am obsessed with my Sakura gel pen, because I just can't stop faux stitching...LOL.

I wish you all a happy and safe Labor Day weekend!!! I plan on spending the weekend with Gypsy and my bug! I know, I know, I'm such a bore...hehe!

Scrappy hugs,

Kimmy : D

Sweet Treats Favor Boxes for my Son's Birthday Party

I'm sorry that I haven't posted in a week! The last week has literally FLOWN by!! My son's ninth birthday turned into an entire week of celebration...LOL! Needless to say, it has been VERY busy around here. Jackson's birthday was on the very first day of school, so between back-to-school and a birthday, I feel like I can take a big, deep, breath now. I am SO ready to get into the season now and have been working on tons of Halloween/Fall projects! Yay! I also had to get a Winter fix and have made some pretty adorable snowmen. Anyhoo, I am posting a couple of pictures of the treat boxes I made for my son's birthday party. I THOUGHT I would have time to take pictures prior to the party and that just didn't happen...LOL. The quality isn't that great because I was snapping as fast as I could while little hands were just a grabbin'...hehe.

I just HAD to make a few girlie ones, although there were few at the party! Jackson's at that age where girls are YUK...LOL.

Hope you all are having a FABULOUS week! I'm getting back to work on some surprises I have in store!

Scrappy Hugs,
